Las Vegas Wranglers is a professional hockey team, that plays at The Orleans Arena. I was able to snag some tickets off Houseseats.com for the Tuesday game against Colorado. I can't say that I know too much about hockey as a sport. I get the basics, its 3 quarters, there are 2 teams who try to get the 1 puck into the opposite teams goal. I get the dirty aspect of it as well. Anyone caught leaving the stands during the game is heckled by the crowd. Everyone wants to, and expects to see a fight between the team players at some point. The more fighting the better. Like all sporting events, the more fans the better, and the Wranglers need more fans. It was a good time all in all and I will gladly take tickets to go again in the future.
Christinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14009826698937641596noreply@blogger.com0Las Vegas, NV, USA36.114646 -115.17281635.909413 -115.48867299999999 36.319879 -114.856959tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-566475211704362436.post-32744576757728392642012-02-26T15:09:00.000-08:002012-02-26T15:11:58.759-08:00Ralphie May @ South Point

Ralphie May can be seen a couple times a year at the South Point Casino in Las Vegas. I make an effort to try to see his show each time he is here. A sucker for comedy, I find myself laughing until I can barely breathe throughout the entire show. Ralphie is upfront with his humor and its something that should be respected within the comedy community. All too often you hear comedians regurgitating others material, its so refreshing to hear someone as genuine as Ralphie May. Go to any show in Las Vegas and the acts have a time limit. The show will start at a specific time and the headliner will be done within their given time, every time. Ralphie often (if not always) goes beyond his time slot, in hopes that his audience feels they got the show they hoped and paid for. I think he can safely say he does just that. I love that he keeps Las Vegas on his tour schedule, and hope to make his next show. If you get the opportunity to see him when he's in town, or in your town, where ever that might be, go! You won't be disappointed.

Steel Panther, an 80's hair band, plays every Friday at House of Blues at Mandalay Bay and Green Valley Ranch on Saturdays (which last I checked, that show is free for locals). This isn't your typical cover band by any means. And DEFINITELY not for young children or anyone who is a self proclaimed prude. Just saying, if you don't enjoy crude humor, don't go see Steel Panther. I on the other hand, laugh my butt off every time I go.

Yes, I have seen Steel Panther multiple times. It never gets old, they are actually amazing musicians on top of being hilarious. The band consists of (from left to right) Lexxi Foxx on bass, Satchel on lead guitar, Michael Starr as the lead vocal and Stix Zadinia (yes read that one out loud) on drums. The hair is long, the tattoos are everywhere, and the spandex must be painted on its so tight. Some of their hit song titles consist of Balls Out, 17 Girls In a Row, and Sexy Santa. Did I mention they have crude humor? The show is completely interactive, they interact with the audience members throughout the show, often bringing people on stage. The band members each have their own personalities that really make the show hilarious. Lexxi Foxx I think is the show though. He spends the majority of the show primping, whether its playing with his hair or reapplying his lip gloss.

Steel Panther is a must see. Be prepared to be shocked, laugh till you pee and rock and roll!

Sigh. I hate to say it, but this show doesn't deserve to be a Cirque du Soleil show. Ok, ok, let me rephrase that to be fair. Cirque du Soleil shouldn't have to claim Believe as one of theirs. That is more accurate. Let me back up a few steps. Criss Angel's Believe Cirque du Soleil show is at Luxor in Las Vegas. I had heard prior to going to the show that it just doesn't hold a candle to any other Cirque show in town. Let me be honest, I had heard that people walked right out of the theater mid show.

As someone that absolutely LOVES dance, the fact that Wade Robson was the choreographer was all I needed to hear to get me on board for seeing Believe. I could write an entire post on how fantastic Wade is and what an amazing artist he is. That being said, I had to go at least once to see his work. As I walked out of the theater (at the end of the show) I can honestly breathe a sigh of relief that Wade did not disappoint. However, for the average person wanting to see a Cirque du Soleil show, they have no clue who Wade Robson is. Nor do they care. They want to be wowed with everything that is Cirque. That doesn't happen in this show. Not only does it not wow, it shows you 80% of Criss's tricks secrets. I don't feel that my seat gave me any different angle than any other seat in the house so to say that I saw every wire, trap door and ramp he used means that just about every other person in that audience did too. Nothing is more disappointing than seeing up a Magicians sleeve so to speak. Would I see this show again? Probably, because I absolutely love Mr. Robson's work. Would I tell people who are looking for a Cirque du Soleil show to see it? Uh, no.
Mystere, the Cirque du Soleil show at Treasure Island, recently went dark for 1 month to make some changes to the show and the theater. My husband did some structural engineering work on the renovations so we received tickets to view the dress rehearsal last night. Not having seen the original production prior to going last night I cannot compare to the new one. However, I will say I absolutely loved what I saw last night.
It was an amazing production. Everything from the costumes and makeup to the choreography. Nothing fell short. Because it was the dress rehearsal there were a few mishaps. A very few, and none of them took away from the show. I was in complete awe with everything I saw. It is truly an amazing show and well worth seeing. It is one of the most reasonably priced Cirque shows in Las Vegas, which makes it all the more worth going to.
Christinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14009826698937641596noreply@blogger.com0Treasure Island Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89128, USA36.216271 -115.2739636.2146695 -115.2764275 36.2178725 -115.27149250000001tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-566475211704362436.post-33707821146132951442012-02-03T15:58:00.000-08:002012-02-17T12:54:48.391-08:00Love @ Mirage

The Beatles Love Cirque du Soleil show at the Mirage is one of the few I have seen without getting my tickets from Houseseats.com. I would say it is one of the better Cirque shows here in Las Vegas. Based on the Beatles, the stage is set in the round so there isn't a bad seat in the house.
True to Cirque nature there are a million things going on all around you and the Beatles music makes it that much more enjoyable. The feel is true to the time period the Beatles ruled the airwaves. The costumes are amazing, the set is fantastic. I would highly recommend seeing this show, I myself plan on going again soon.
Christinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14009826698937641596noreply@blogger.com1Mirage Ln, Las Vegas, NV 89101, USA36.1642842 -115.096614536.1626817 -115.099082 36.165886699999994 -115.094147tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-566475211704362436.post-83363103064267460732012-01-27T16:41:00.000-08:002012-02-17T12:55:04.297-08:00Absinthe @ Caesars Palace

Absinthe is a fairly new show at Caesars Palace. The premise of the show is very Rocky Horror Picture show meets Cirque de Soleil style. There are multiple acts, all slightly crazy and creepy. The atmosphere is that of a circus side show. It takes place in a large tent outside, seating is in the round. As you are waiting to enter the tent there is a bar and cocktail waitresses outside all all dressed in costume.
The set is gorgeous, and gets you in the mood for the show. I was very entertained with this show, all of the different acts have a humorous quality to them and some crazier than others. This is one of the only shows I have seen recently that I didn't get the tickets through Houseseats.com. In fact, I don't believe I have ever seen this show available on Houseseats.com. Absinthe is a must see for locals as well as tourists. It is definitely not for young children as the comedy is very adult in nature.
Christinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14009826698937641596noreply@blogger.com0Caesars Palace Dr, Las Vegas, NV 89005, USA35.980215 -114.88217235.978609 -114.88463949999999 35.981821000000004 -114.8797045tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-566475211704362436.post-49962875050424029532011-09-25T15:58:00.000-07:002012-02-17T12:55:15.024-08:00Jabbawockeez @ Monte Carlo

Its been a year but we renewed our Houseseats.com membership last week. With the baby due in a week we needed something that would be perfect for date nights. I am excited to get back out and enjoy what Vegas is known for, entertainment!

Our first show of the renewed membership was Jabbawockeez. I am a huge fan of this dance crew. I've been a fan since they first appeared on TV with MTV's America's Best Dance Crew. Their style is so unique, a mixture of hip hop, street, b-boy and I love watching them. The set and costumes were fantastic. The show is a mixture of not only dance but a lot of humor as well which was great! It definitely was worth going to, and I am glad I got to go before they leave Las Vegas.Christinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14009826698937641596noreply@blogger.com03400 Monte Carlo E, Las Vegas, NV 89121, USA36.126846 -115.093490336.1140215 -115.1132313 36.1396705 -115.0737493tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-566475211704362436.post-47866497464470345072010-03-17T16:20:00.000-07:002012-02-14T20:41:35.341-08:00Lance Burton @ Monte Carlo

FINALLY!! Lance has been popping up on Houseseats.com regularly for the past month or so. Everytime I see him there is something else going on that stops us from going. We finally got to see his show this past Saturday. He is at the Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino. He shares his theater with Frank Caliendo. Lance Burton embodies what a Las Vegas Magic show is all about. He made people disappear, cars disappear, levitation and sawing people in half. The show was very entertaining and family friendly. If you like magic you'll be entertained by this show.
Christinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14009826698937641596noreply@blogger.com0Monte Carlo E, Paradise, NV 89121, USA36.126846 -115.093490336.125243 -115.0959578 36.128449 -115.0910228tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-566475211704362436.post-20025241866991716992010-03-17T16:13:00.000-07:002012-02-14T20:42:10.453-08:00Jim Florentine @ Palace Station

A little late posting about this show but better late than never right? Jason and I got tickets to see the stand up comedian Jim Florentine off Houseseats.com. He was performing at the Palace Station. Jim Florentine is best known for his characters "Special Ed" and "Bobby Fletcher" on the hit show Crank Yankers on Comedy Central.

The show had 2 warm up comedians. They were ok, with some good jokes. Nothing amazing (clearly since I can't remember their names). Jim Florentine himself, was hilarious!! He did a few Special Ed bits and all in all kept the audience laughing. I would definitely recommend seeing him if you get the chance.
Christinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14009826698937641596noreply@blogger.com0Charleston @ Palace (W), Las Vegas, NV 89145, USA36.159099 -115.30381936.1574965 -115.3062865 36.160701499999995 -115.30135150000001tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-566475211704362436.post-41739651886156867882010-02-06T11:16:00.000-08:002012-02-14T20:42:32.509-08:00Defending The Caveman @ Harrahs

My theory? Its a Broadway comedy so it can't be too bad right? Hmmm I am rethinking Broadway. Now based on the fact that it claims to be from Broadway I immediately thought it was a stage production....The show starts with a video montage of a husband and his wife and daily life...ok so now what? The stage is set looking like a scene out of The Flinestones...a stone couch and a stone TV with petroglyphs on the "wall". The husband from the video comes out and starts doing....essentially? Stand up comedy. The premise....men and women are two different cultures and let me explain to why. To give him credit...there were some comical parts, typically when I related to what he was saying, and I'd jab Jason in the side and giggle. That was it.
Christinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14009826698937641596noreply@blogger.com1Harrahs Ct, Paradise, NV 89119, USA36.0605888 -115.15417436.0589843 -115.15664149999999 36.0621933 -115.1517065tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-566475211704362436.post-44729960315544897092010-01-14T11:07:00.000-08:002012-02-14T20:43:11.578-08:00Le Reve @ Wynn

We got lucky on Monday and Le Reve was available on Houseseats.com at Wynn Las Vegas!! I quickly grabbed Jason's 2 tickets and told Rosy, she requested her 4 and invited Rose and Bill to join us. I have always wanted to see Le Reve, so I was super excited. The show was amazing!!! Definitely lived up to Cirque du Soleil standards and then some. The theater is configured in the round. The first 2 rows all the way around are "splash zone" seats and are discounted. Who would have ever thought that the first 2 rows would be the cheapest? Our seats were about 10 rows up from the bottom and perfect. The most expensive are the very last rows along the top. They are reclining chairs, with champagne and tv screens to view the show.

The show was so mesmerizing. So many things going on and yet I found it a lot more enjoyable than Ka which also was extremely action packed. Where with Ka, I felt like there was too much going on and I wasn't able to enjoy it, Le Reve was perfect. The theater seating I think had a lot to do with it. The "stage" is nothing short of amazing. It changes so many times I am still wondering how. I would love to see O now and compare the two.
Christinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14009826698937641596noreply@blogger.com0Wynn Rd, Las Vegas, NV, USA36.111885 -115.19471336.0862295 -115.234195 36.1375405 -115.15523099999999tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-566475211704362436.post-31398405186028204002010-01-11T14:13:00.001-08:002012-02-14T20:43:42.642-08:00Nathan Burton @ Flamingo Hilton
The Nathan Burton Comedy Magic show At the Flamingo Hilton. We snagged the tickets from Houseseats.com. This show is a late afternoon show, more geared toward the family audience. The showroom seating was all around the stage, making Nathan visible to everyone. He had 2 showgirls and a guy dancer in his act. The humor is more PG-13 so its definitely one of the only shows on the strip that parents could feel at ease taking their kids to. The magic was a little redundant...we've all seen the majority of the tricks, making his showgirls disappear and reappear, etc. Nathans humor really kept the show going, he is extremely entertaining.
Christinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14009826698937641596noreply@blogger.com0Las Vegas, NV, USA36.114646 -115.17281635.909413 -115.48867299999999 36.319879 -114.856959tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-566475211704362436.post-46872684007835511892010-01-11T13:21:00.001-08:002012-02-14T20:44:16.804-08:00Free Beer! Free Beer! The Improv Show is always on Houseseats.com. Its at The Stage Door Theater at Town Square. I see it every weekend on the website and never thought to go see what it was all about. After seeing Craig Gass on Friday at the theater, we all decided to go see it on Saturday night. I am so glad we did! For those of you who actually pay the $20 ticket price, it includes 1 free beer. Since our tickets were free, we didn't get the free beer. Once seated we noticed 2 pieces of paper on each of our tables. One said "Favorite Punch Line" and one said "Favorite Line From a Book". We were to fill them out and stick them in a bucket that was sitting on the stage. The show is an improv show fairly similar to "Who's Line Is It Anyways" with Drew Carey if anyone remembers that TV show. There are 2 teams of comedians, each team plays a "game" of sorts. The papers we filled out were used for a skit, they continued to pick up the papers and had to use the line in the skit. It was so funny!! The show was awesome and I would love to go back since each and every week is different!!!
Christinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14009826698937641596noreply@blogger.com0Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce, Town Square, 6671 Las Vegas Blvd S, Las Vegas, NV 89119, USA36.0680472 -115.176593236.0552122 -115.1963342 36.080882200000005 -115.1568522tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-566475211704362436.post-11298474736255064752010-01-11T13:13:00.000-08:002012-02-14T20:45:09.696-08:00Craig Gass @ Town Square
I had never heard of Craig Gass before but apparently he has been in Sex in The City, The Family Guy, he will have his own Sirius satellite show on the Howard 100 channel amongst other things. The theater was DEAD!! There were about 25 of us so already this was a little awkward for the comedians. Craig had 3 very funny opening acts and then he came on. He is hilarious!!! He chose to make light of the situation due to the lack of audience and made fun of his agent for booking him there. It was great!! I look forward to hearing his show on satellite and would recommend seeing him if he comes back to Vegas!!
Christinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14009826698937641596noreply@blogger.com0S Main St, Town Square, Las Vegas, NV 89119, USA36.065613290496778 -115.1770591735839836.052778290496775 -115.19680017358398 36.07844829049678 -115.15731817358399tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-566475211704362436.post-80425736324104822142010-01-11T13:05:00.000-08:002012-02-14T20:46:18.711-08:00The Guy Fieri Roadshow @ Mandalay Bay
The Guy Fieri Roadshow at The House of Blues inside The Mandalay Bay was another crazy find on Houseseats.com. I would have never guessed these tickets would show up on there. I love Guy Fieri's Food Network shows. Diners, Drive-ins & Dives is so great, it constantly makes me hungry and any chance to try out these locations I take it! I wasn't sure what to expect of his roadshow but I knew the seats were standing room only. While I love Guy's TV shows, I am not too sure about the live show. We stood around waiting for quite a while for it to begin. A cooking show has 2 opening acts BTW?! One was the executive chef from the culinary school at UNLV, the second was a mixologist. Guy and his crew finally came on stage and started cooking amongst other things. It was crazy! There wasn't much emphasis on the food itself to be honest, which was a little disappointing. There were games, singing, a performer? Odd. I think a cooking roadshow would be a lot more entertaining if you got to try the food. Just a thought :) Still a fan Guy, just a suggestion for your next tour.
Christinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14009826698937641596noreply@blogger.com0Las Vegas, NV, USA36.114646 -115.17281635.909413 -115.48867299999999 36.319879 -114.856959tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-566475211704362436.post-2337109743495695372010-01-11T13:00:00.000-08:002012-02-14T20:47:24.177-08:00Gordie Brown Live @ Golden Nugget
Gordie Brown is at the Golden Nugget. He is along the same lines as Danny Gans was. Its a music show filled with impressions of actors, and musicians with a comedic twist to it all. The show was great! Not something that I would normally have chosen to see, you don't hear too much about it and its not in a prime location. It was a pleasant surprise. The Golden Nugget has had quite a bit of work done to it, and looks great! The showroom is new as well. Gordie Brown does a great job with his impressions. I would recommend this show as a great option for a fun night out!
Christinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14009826698937641596noreply@blogger.com0Gold Nugget Dr, Las Vegas, NV 89122, USA36.0894417 -115.023133936.0878377 -115.0256014 36.0910457 -115.02066640000001tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-566475211704362436.post-6385646857237038242010-01-11T12:52:00.000-08:002012-02-14T20:48:04.130-08:00Frank Caliendo @ Monte Carlo
Frank Caliendo recently signed a deal at the Monte Carlo. We got seats for his opening night on Houseseats.com. Frank Caliendo is known for doing impressions of well known people, and he is amazing at it! Most noteworthy are; George W. Bush, John Madden, Donald Trump, and Charles Barkley (thats trrble, trrble, trrble). He does so many impressions he'll have your head spinning. The show was great, we laughed till our stomaches hurt. I would definitely go see him again, he is another great show here in Las Vegas.
Christinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14009826698937641596noreply@blogger.com0Monte Carlo E, Paradise, NV 89121, USA36.126846 -115.093490336.125243 -115.0959578 36.128449 -115.0910228tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-566475211704362436.post-45445801823429668872010-01-11T12:41:00.001-08:002012-02-14T20:56:23.801-08:00Dane Cook - Isolated Incident @ Hard Rock

This show was by far the most exciting find on Houseseats.com. Dane Cook's Isolated Incident Comedy Tour at the Hard Rock Hotel. I love, Dane Cook, his humor is just my style. I had seen this tour performance previously, but his jokes never get old so I jumped at the chance to go again. Dane had extended his tour and had chosen to return to Las Vegas for a second time. When I heard this I immediately started looking for tickets. I hunted high and low for cheap tickets, which was impossible. First of all, nothing in Vegas since the disappearance of the $2.00 buffet is decently priced. Dane sells out fast and his tickets are never cheap. So the day before his show I had pretty much thrown in the towel. That night, I checked houseseats.com to see what was available for the weekend. DANE COOK! I'm sorry, am I seeing correctly? Yes, Dane Cook seats were available. Clearly this had to be too good to be true. The seats were going to be standing room only right? Or piped into the hall? Regardless, I was going. Shock doesn't begin to describe what I was feeling when the usher brought me to my seat. 10 rows back from the stage. So while I may have heard these jokes a time or two before, it was well worth going again and I laughed the entire show. SUFI for life!
Christinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14009826698937641596noreply@blogger.com0E Harmon Ave, Las Vegas, NV, USA36.1072964 -115.118990436.055982400000005 -115.1979544 36.1586104 -115.0400264tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-566475211704362436.post-74371180201319362762010-01-11T12:33:00.000-08:002012-02-14T20:57:30.284-08:00Sin City Bad Girls @ LVH
Sin City Bad Girls is a topless show at The Las Vegas Hilton in the Shimmer Showroom. Of all the shows we have seen, I would say that this one was probably my least favorite. Its not that it wasn't entertaining, it just wasn't as good as the others we have seen. Its pretty predictable. A bunch of girls, a ton of costume changes and some not so amazing singing of some well known rock songs. The showroom is on the smaller side, which is fine for the type of show it is. For a free show, I was definitely entertained but not one I would look to see again.
Christinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14009826698937641596noreply@blogger.com0Las Vegas Hilton Station, Winchester, NV 89109, USA36.13716 -115.1529436.135557 -115.1554075 36.138763000000004 -115.1504725tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-566475211704362436.post-76665539670511949252010-01-11T12:23:00.000-08:002012-02-14T20:58:50.332-08:00Playboy Comedy Show @ Palms
The Playboy Comedy Show is at Palms. I got the tickets off houseseats.com. I didn't know really what to expect from the show with it being a "Playboy" show. The comedians were funny, and extremely adult in their humor. The host of the evening was a previous Playmate of the Year and there was a life size picture of her naked sitting on stage. Other than that, there was no correlation to Playboy. On the downside, the theater was absolutely freezing, and made it almost impossible to pay attention. I would give this show a second chance, I just hope they get the A/C under control in there!
Christinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14009826698937641596noreply@blogger.com0Palms Exhibit Services, Las Vegas, NV 89147, USA36.1148054 -115.277831736.1019779 -115.29757269999999 36.1276329 -115.2580907tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-566475211704362436.post-27855912135967253062010-01-11T12:16:00.000-08:002012-02-14T20:59:30.261-08:00Carrot Top @ Luxor
Carrot Top is often available on Houseseats.com and we jumped at the opportunity to see his show. He is at the Luxor in the Atrium Showroom. One of the great things about the showroom is its fairly small, more intimate and the seats are interactive (rumble, blow air at you, etc). I have always thought Carrot Top is hilarious. He didn't disappoint during this show either. Quick to make fun of Criss Angel at any given chance, plus he is always updating his jokes according to whatever is going on in the world. Whether its making fun of Britney Spears, Obama, or the airlines strict guidelines. There is always something hilarious coming out of his trunks of jokes. His arms continue to get bigger, his eyebrows higher and his skin tighter (little creepy, not gonna lie). I can't wait to go again and see all his new material!
Christinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14009826698937641596noreply@blogger.com0Las Vegas @ Luxor (N), Paradise, NV 89109, USA36.094419 -115.1726336.092815 -115.17509749999999 36.096023 -115.1701625tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-566475211704362436.post-77929636390815845702010-01-11T12:09:00.000-08:002012-02-14T20:37:38.032-08:00Sin City Comedy Show @ Miracle Mile
The Sin City Comedy Show is at the V Theater in the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood. Being that my seats were from Houseseats.com, they were in a second theater upstairs. At first glance, I was thinking for sure we would be watching the comedians perform the routines on TV rather than live since there were a bunch of TV's up on the stage and there was also a stage downstairs. This was a disappointing thought. Luckily, this was not the case. There were 4 comedians...and it was a great show! None of the comedians were big names that I'd recognize immediately, however, they were great, kept the audience laughing and there weren't any awkward silences to speak of. I would definitely recommend this to everyone if you get the chance to go. Being a comedy show, I am sure the comedians will be different each time but I don't doubt hilarious. I am sure I will go again.
Christinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14009826698937641596noreply@blogger.com0Las Vegas @ Planet Hollywood Hotel (N), Paradise, NV 89109, USA36.109639 -115.17265836.1080355 -115.1751255 36.1112425 -115.1701905tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-566475211704362436.post-12787982748244209112010-01-11T12:02:00.000-08:002010-01-11T12:07:09.892-08:00Houseseats.com
A few months ago Jason became a member of the website Houseseats.com.
